Year 1 Countdown to Space!
Y1 have had an ‘out-of-this-world’ experience last week as it was the official launch of their new SPACE topic, Is There Anybody Out There?
We started the day with an astronaut space training exercise, where the children learnt to moon walk, dodge asteroids and jump over stars!
We then sent the children on a secret mission where they had to work in partners to find hidden ‘moon rocks’ which held amazing jumbled up space facts inside for the children to solve! Next, we learnt a super fun alien song with Mrs Underwood. Finally, we got to design and make our very own alien.
We had so much fun whilst learning collaboratively about space! Huge thank you for the marvellous costumes and enthusiasm! Well Done Year One…Let’s BLAST OFF FOR SUCCESS!
