As per the last newsletter Buster’s Book Club has started and we already have seen an increase in reading in many classes around the school.

Last week (Week 1), on Friday 3rd May, Buster bear was won by Year 2 Mrs Jacobs’ class as over 70% of children read for 15 minutes or more. The winning class in Key stage 2 was Year 3 Miss Arden’s class having over 60% of children reading 20 minutes or more.

This week (Week 2), by Friday 10th May, the numbers have increased yet again! KS1 winner is Year 1 Miss Miah’s class where over 77% children read. KS2 winner is Year 6 Mrs Handley’s class. They increased 32% more this week to a whooping 89%! Well done Year 6!

We are looking forward to more record breaking!

Week 3 – ” This week we focused on the most improved class. More and more children are remembering to read and achieve their target minutes…our percentages are rising! This week in Early Years and Key Stage 1, Einstein class (2MSN) were our winners of Buster Bear and Year 6 (who have blown us away with their increased reading numbers!) won our stunning glass trophy. Well done everyone, keep up the good reading! ”
